For some reason I have wanted an outside message center for awhile. I wasn't really sure what I would use it for, but I just wanted one.
I had used an oil pan as a large magnet center for my daughter in her room after seeing it on Pinterest and I thought it was a great idea, however she lost interest pretty quickly so I decided to reclaim it and use it as my message center.
Sorry for the angle, it's not possible to get a straight on shot where it's located.
The chalkboard side I made just by using chalkboard spray paint and taping it off halfway down the pan. The other side has a few magnets. At first I had some cute ones on there but they were stolen (can you believe someone would want magnets?) so then I just put on whatever was hanging around the house. The clothesline clip is great, I use that one to put my landscapers check, notes to UPS, etc. I have also gotten a note on there from UPS before when they tried to deliver a package I had to sign for.
The chalkboard side is fun too, I can leave a message with chalk if I want. Please excuse my drawing I never claimed to be an artist! To hang it it after going through several different things, I finally found 3Ms Command Strips that were velcro. They have been the only thing to make it stick and it has been up a few months now, through a Texas summer even.
Thanks for looking.
